The Church of St Laurentius (Finnish: Pyhän Laurin kirkko) is the third largest medieval parish church in Finland. The murals from early 16th century make it one of the most valuable medieval buildings in Finland. The rustic and naive murals depicted biblical stories for the illiterate population. During this tour you hear the history of this extraoridinary stone church and also stories behind the tomb stones. During religious services and other events we are not able to visit the church inside.
Recomended time to visit from April to October. During winter time snow can complicate walking. Please ask other visiting times by email.
